We’re in studio working on the new record, planned for release early 2010. We’ve got some great songs laid down and we’re really working hard to make it the best we can. 2010 is going to be a big year for all of us. Our time in Italy was great, albeit short ’cause we kinda had to be back in Jozi to play at Rocking the Gardens.

Rocking the Gardens was pretty cool and the response from the fans was awesome. Jozi ROCKZ.

Jay-Z and his thoughts

R & R

Hi everyone

Since the beginning of 2009 we’ve been pretty busy. Jetting around most of Europe and other parts of the world performing at various gigs. Guess that is one of the coolest aspects of what we do, we get to see so many places and the thrill of showcasing our music to new fans never gets old.

Since we’ve been rather busy, all of us are taking some time out in September. So no gigs and stuff, we’ll keep you guys updated via our blog and facebook and myspace and stuff.

Checkout out District 9 recently. OMG it’s freaking awesome. And it’s made about R840mil in total so far. Supporting South African film has never been so gratifying. It’s totally worth it, Niel Blomkamp and everyone else involved with the making of the film did a stunning job. Makes us PROUDLY SOUTH AFRICAN!

The great thing about doing what you love is that your job doesn’t feel like a job. Waking up every day and actually wanting to go to work is awesome. So many people get up in the morning and rush to work, not because they want to but because they have to. That’s why we’re lucky to be in this business, and to be surrounded by good people and even better fans.

We’re on a little break at the moment until 29th and 30th of August. First we’ll be hitting The Brothers For Life Concert in Durban (29-Aug) and then the Moretele Tribute Concert 2009 (30-Aug). We’ve got no shows scheduled for September, time we’ll use to get creative in the studio. OMG the year is rushing to an end. Everything just seems to be flying by so quickly. 

 

On the Twitter front, we’ve reached 1 000 followers. Thanks to everyone who follows our tweets, now we’re hoping to get to 2 000 followers!

 

Thanks to all the Facebook fans from our Facebook Fan Page. We read your comments when we got the time. It’s so cool to see the support out there! We also wanna holla at the fan club members of The Official Freshlyground Fan Club on Facebook – thanks for the feedback on our gigs we played so far this year. To all our MySpace friends, thanks for all the emails.

Performances in Germany

We performed 3 gigs in Germany from the 14th to the 16th of August and it was awesome.

Performing around the world

We’ve been on the road a lot over the past couple of months. We’ve jetted out to Europe, the USA, Canada and back to South Africa since the beginning of the year, and we all agree that returning to Germany is always a pleasure. Our German fans totally rock.

Because of the universal language of emotion, music transcends all boundaries and we’re honored to have fans from most parts of the world.

While traveling as extensively as we are, we’ve been working on some new material. The plans for a new record is in the works but for now we’re showcasing some of the new songs on the gigs we’re doing this year.
